Noise figure (NF) measures of degradation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), caused by components, such as amplifiers, in an RF signal chain. The noise figure number, displayed in decibels (dB), represents the performance by which an amplifier or RF receiver can be measured. The lower noise figure number, the better.
