Noise figure (NF) measures of degradation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), caused by components, such as amplifiers, in an RF signal chain. The noise figure number, displayed in decibels (dB), represents the performance by which an amplifier or RF receiver can be measured.
Noise temperature is a representation of noise in terms of the temperature required to produce an equivalent amount of Johnson-Nyquist Noise.
